First Anniversary!

Kyle and I have been married a whole year! Time really does fly. For our anniversary we decided to drive down to California and have some fun at Disneyland! We left Wednesday after I got out of class and drove to St George. Then Thursday morning we headed out! We stopped at our favorite fast food chicken place in Las Vegas, and then drove to LA. We stopped on our way to Anaheim at the Los Angeles temple, which was gorgeous. We also had dinner that night in LA with Kyle's cousin and his wife, who is a legit TV actress. It was a lot of fun to meet them. When we got to our hotel, we noticed the picture on the wall, and called the room our "Best Friend's Suite" the rest of the time, haha.

The next morning we walked to Disneyland! It was seriously the best day. They gave us pins when we bought our tickets that said "Happy Anniversary!" and every employee in the park congratulated us, which was fun. Kyle insisted on taking a picture in front of every ride we went on, so even though these are all the exact same picture just with different backgrounds, I'm going to post them all anyways ha. Disneyland was all Christmas-themed already, and it definitely got us feeling the Christmas spirit!

HAHAHAHA

That last picture is hilarious to me because we squeezed into one tiny rocket and our legs were dying! A few other pictures from the evening time include us eating our very expensive churros, us thinking we are funny while riding splash mountain two times in a row (there was no line, so we literally just stayed in our log for another ride), us standing in front of the sign of the song Kyle always sings to me ("Ohhh its a jolly holiday with Mary!" etc.), and the beautiful castle at night:)

It was an amazing and magical day at Disneyland! The highlight of the trip!

The next day we went on a boat to the Channel Islands! Kyle loves National Parks more than a lot of things, and he was excited to cross another one off his list! Unfortunately, it rained during the entire boat ride (there and back) but while we were actually on the island it was sunny and nice! It was a beautiful place, with stunning ocean cliff views. We hiked to a lookout point, and the ground was super muddy from the earlier rain, and it stuck to our shoes like glue! I'm not kidding, I felt like I was hiking in wedges! And it also made us slip and fall multiple times! We were laughing so hard about it.  It was a fun adventure!

To end the trip right, we went to eat seafood, just like we did on our honeymoon. We ate in Santa Monica right on the boardwalk. We had crab legs, a lobster claw, and other assorted shell fish. It was yum and a great last night of our trip.

It has been a great year being married to my best friend!! Here's to many many more happy years!!

Cornbelly's Fall Fun

One of the best parts of fall is going to the corn maze! This year Kyle and I went with three other couple friends to Cornbelly's for a night of fun! We went through the Haunted House/ Corn Maze first and it was SO scary, and so much fun! Some other highlights were the normal corn maze (shaped like the presidential candidates), haunted cage maze, burlap sack slide, tether-ball  and walking around inside Thanksgiving Point's shops looking at the Halloween decor. It was a great evening! WE LOVE FALL!

Yellowstone!

All summer long, Kyle told me he wanted to go to Yellowstone. He hasn't missed a summer trip up there in many years!! So even though our summer was way too busy to squeeze a trip in, we decided to go last weekend. We left Friday with Kevin and Megan, after work and school, and drove till we got to the Tetons. We (Kyle and Kevin) put up the tent in a secluded little area and we went right to sleep at 1 am. The next thing I know, its like 6 am and there are 50+ people all around our camping spot taking pictures of the sunrise. HA! it was hilarious.
We drove through the park all day Saturday looking for animals and our car got surrounded by buffalo twice! Pretty cool.We didn't see any bears or wolves, but we had a fun time together looking!
We camped again Saturday night, but this time we were undisturbed. Before hitting the road, we went to church in West Yellowstone in the cutest little chapel I've ever seen. We made it back to Utah and had Sunday dinner at Megan's parents' house. So fun! We were home by early evening, just in time for us to get ready to head back to school and work Monday morning!
It was a short trip, but its always a fun time going on road trips with the four of us!

Fall has just begun!

A few highlights from the beginning of fall:

On September 14th, we went with our friends Johnny and Ashley to the Utah State Fair! We had a fun time walking around, enjoying the fun atmosphere, and eating cotton candy and turkey legs. It was a really fun night!

Being a student is busy! I had 4 tests in three days!

After finishing all the tests, Kyle and I got to go home for the weekend to Eagle! The five of us- me, kyle, mom, dad, masen- all went to see Les Miserables on Friday night and it was amazing! The next day was Masen's senior Homecoming dance. Kyle was forced into taking pictures of his group, and i snapped a few iPhone pictures too:)

On the drive back from Idaho, I discovered something new that my legs will let me do! I can officially squat without holding onto anything! Hooray!!

Last Wednesday was the BYU Jazz Voices' first concert of the year! It was the Jazz Showcase, so we sang after 2 other instrumental jazz groups, and before the prestigious BYU Synthesis. It was a fun night!

The next day, we bought Kyle a new car! Its a green Honda Accord, and he loves it. We got it from one of his best friends, and its a good little car. Kyle is very happy!

Summer of Summers

So I basically failed to blog about the rest of the summer as it was happening. So now I am just going to do a brief overview of all that happened in the best summer ever, 2012.

After the 4th of July, Kyle and I moved into a new place. Its a little condo that we absolutely love. This is the main living room.

Sometime during the week of July 9th, we went on a hike to Cecret Lake, which was beautiful. Karleigh and Brandon came, as well as Kevin and Megan. (More on them later;) )

Before heading to Idaho for a visit home, Kyle and I joined the other 3 people who received serious burns last July for a one year reunion dinner. It was great to see everyone and catch up on how each of our recoveries is going.

On July 13th we headed home to Eagle! My sister Kacee and her kids came for their annual visit, and my other sister and brother and their kids were around 24/7 as well. It was such a fun trip, and it was way too short. I got a few snapshots of the fun we had, but they can't even do it justice. The best part was just being with my family and actually being able to be a fun aunt again- unlike last summer, stuck in the burn unit!

First thing we did was to have GNO and BNO. Us girls went to get Ella, Aubrey and Ruby's hair cut/nails painted, and then went out to dinner.

We had a very busy schedule! The next week was crammed full of fun activities!

Monday was Boondocks day... this is Tyler and I about to race the go karts!

Tuesday we went to the park, and made Tie-dye shirts

Wednesday we went bowling and went to the horse races!

Thursday we went to the zoo (in our matching tie-dye) and then floated the Boise River!

Friday we spent the day at Roaring Springs! I even went! and just got my compression pants wet ha!

Saturday was girls' shopping day, and grown ups' date night. Sadly no pictures of the little girls' fashion show were taken by me. it was adorable though.

Sunday was our last day there, and the drive home was so sad.

The next Sunday, July 29th was our first time going to our new ward, since we had been out of town for 2 weeks! It was great, we love it there.

Then on Wednesday, August 1st, Kacee, Bryan and crew were in Park City with Bryan's family, and Kacee invited me up for the day! It was so much fun. I loved getting to see those kids (and my sister) one last time before they went home to TX for another year.

The next day, Masen flew in to Salt Lake for the weekend!! We didn't get to go on a family vacation this summer together, so having him come down was a major summer highlight! We went to Lagoon, and Masen treated Kyle and I to the Sky Coaster...... it may have been the scariest thing I've ever done. Ever.

The next week Kyle and I got our first snow cones of the summer. I am ashamed. Also- note that the sno cone shack in Eagle is about 50x better than the one in Orem. But it was still wonderful.

Now on to our trip to Colorado with Kyle's family!!
We left on our roadtrip with Kevin and Megan to Copper Mountain, CO on August 9th. We got in after midnight and went straight to sleep. The purpose for having the family trip in Colorado was because of the 100 mile bike race in Leadville that Kyle's dad, brother, sister, and brother-in-law were doing on the 11th. It was a ton of fun babysitting with Kyle's sister Christa, while everyone else supported the bikers through their 7-10 hour race. We had a few nice days of just relaxing in our gorgeous rented mountain house. Megan and I basically fought over holding baby Samantha (okay, not really, but we did pretty much steal her from her mom, my SIL Melissa)

We had the "Perry Family Olympics" and played games up in the beautiful Colorado mountains! We also drove on bumpy dirt road a lot in the 4-Runners (Kevin and Brandon both own one) and Brandon even drove through a seriously deep river. We also explored the cool and creepy old mines that are everywhere along the dirt roads there.

We all got Copper Mountain resort passes and did go karts, rock climbing, bungee trampolines, bumper boats, mini-golf, and a ski lift that we road mountain bikes down from! Such a fun place!!

We ended the trip with a happy note. Kevin and Megan got engaged! I am so so happy for them!! Such a great girl for such a wonderful brother-in-law.

The trip ended with Tom's 100 mile trail run to complete his Leadman achievement! We weren't sure if he would make it after his IT Band flared up, but he did it! He is a Leadman!!
We all had such a great time up int he mountains, and I would say my first trip to CO was a huge success!! Love that Perry fam.

This really has been such a wonderful summer. Being able to spend time with my family and Kyle's has been so nice. I am not ready for school to start back up again, or for the beautiful summer to end, but I am sure great things will be coming in the school year as well! <3
