Alaksa!! Part 3.

Wednesday was our first port! We stopped in Juneau, and had an awesome day. Kyle and Masen started out first thing with a hike up the mountain that stood right at the backdrop of town. 

They were back by 9 and the three of us headed to our excursion that day- a helicopter ride up Mendenhall Glacier to the dog sled camp. Wow, it was so cool flying above that gorgeous glacier. We ended up in super deep snow, but it was still so nice out that we only wore light jackets (or in Kyle’s case- a t shirt). We rode a dog sled pulled by about 15 dogs, and afterwards we got to hold the puppies… I was dying. They were so cute. Then we rode the helicopter back down to town. It was a crazy fun experience!!

After we were done dog sledding, we walked around the darling town of Juneau and did some shopping/souvenir hunting! Kyle also bought me my birthday present in Juneau… a gorgeous tanzanite necklace that I am in love with. J 

Back on the boat, we had dinner and then we watched the most gorgeous sunset any of us had ever seen. Kyle was dying and got so many amazing photos. These are only a couple of them! 

Alaska!! Part 2.

By Monday we realized that the elevators told us what day it was, they changed it out every night. So Kyle and I took a picture in the elevator every day haha.

The first day was mostly just a lot of running around the ship, finding our way to all the important places (such as the sports bar where the boys could watch the NBA Finals). We went to a “dance class” and Kyle got chosen out of everyone to compete at the Dancing with the Stars: At Sea finale on the last day. We were laughing so hard about it, even though I was truly very impressed!! Monday was also the first formal night. So we suited up!

Tuesday we cruised through the Tracy Arm Fjord, which was basically this amazing and gorgeous little area where the shore/mountains were extremely close on both sides of the ship, covered in water falls and the water had millions of little icebergs. We cruised up the fjord until we got to a breathtaking, huge glacier. We got pretty dang close, but not close enough to be at risk of hitting any bigger pieces of floating ice. We finished the day with a delicious (as always) dinner, and a comedy show.

Alaska!! Part 1.

Kyle and I were so excited to be able to go on a cruise to Alaska with my parents and little brother! We originally had planned a roadtrip through Canada this summer with Kevin and Megan, but because Masen is heading out on his mission in about a month, we canceled that trip to be able to go to Alaska instead. (Shout-out to Megan and Kevin for being so understanding!)

We seriously had the best time. First of all, Kyle and I drove to Eagle Friday night, and then the five of us drove to Seattle all day Saturday. 

When we got there, we went to dinner at me and Kyle’s favorite restaurant ever, the Crab Pot. So delicious!! Afterwards we went to an 11 o’clock showing of the new Superman. It was a pretty late night haha.

We got on the Oosterdam in Seattle at about 4pm on my birthday/Father’s Day. It was such a gorgeous cruise ship, and the first three days while we were on board without any stops, we had a great time doing stuff around the ship.

The first evening it was so nice and warm. We sat on the deck outside until we had to go to dinner. Since it was my birthday, the waiters all sang to me and brought me this super delicious birthday cake! So embarrassing, but really fun. We also went to the big shows that the cruise dancers/singers put on almost every night, which was always great! 

St George Spring Traditions

One of me and Kyle's favorite things about spring is taking weekend trips down to St. George. Last spring we went down a bunch of times, including 3 weekends in a row. This year we have already gone twice, and both times it wasn't exactly hot yet. The first time it was only about 45 degrees, but we hiked around Snow Canyon anyways! We went cave exploring, ate at Outback with my Christmas gift card from work, and even did some shopping at Kyle's favorite store- Eddie Bauer. haha.

The second trip south was this past weekend. We met up with a few special people down there, including Kyle's friend Rob, and Masen and his friends. It was a lot warmer this time, and we hiked in a lot less layers. We also met up with Kyle's brother Bryson and his family and went hot tubbing and hiking with them.
There was also a cat being walked on a leash around town, and i couldn't resist snapping a pic.

Life as of Late

2013 has been flying by!! I've gotten so behind on blogging. Here are a few snapshots of the year so far.

I was asked to model a dress in Janay and Melanie's collection for 2 fashion shows held at BYU in February! It was so much fun getting to walk on the runway, and also getting to know these lovely girls. 

Jazz Voices has been so much fun so far this year! I have such great friends in the group, and we have been having a wonderful time making great music together. Its still the best part of BYU for me! 

I got to go home for almost a whole week and hang out with my family! I drove up on Tuesday night, and Kyle joined me in Boise on Friday after his work trip in Oregon ended. It was so good to take a break from school and just be home with my fam. Oh, and did I mention I drove up in our NEW car? We are so excited about our Hyundai Sonata! We got it brand new, and it is absolutely gorgeous.
