Skydiving!! - Moab 2014

It seems like life has been kinda boring, for the most part. Same schedule of work for me, school for Kyle, every week. We are so blessed to have a stable life, don't get me wrong! But we were VERY excited about planning our trip to Moab in May. We knew we were going to go down there, so when we found a Groupon for tandem skydiving in Moab, we just knew we had to do it!
I got a Thurs/Fri off of work and Kyle had a small break between semesters, so on Wednesday at 6pm, we started our drive down to Moab! Kyle made me a little bed in the back of the SUV, and at about midnight I crawled back there while he finished the drive. We got to Moab around 2:30am, put up our tent and went to sleep!
The next morning we had to be to the airport at 10am. We walked to a small hangar where we watched a video about the dangers of skydiving and then signed our lives away! (maybe the scariest part.) Then we got all our gear on and got into the tiniest, freakiest little plane I have ever seen. That thing was intense. The plane ride was totally scary, especially take off. On the plane ride up, we got the majority of our instructions on how to jump/land. What?! I was so scared I would miss something, it was so loud in there! Once we got to 14,000 feet, my professional tandem guy got us hooked together, opened the door, and out we went! He pretty much had to throw me out. Kyle's jump was probably even scarier, because he is so tall, he couldn't even put his feet on anything. They were just dangling out of the plane before the jump!
The landing was crazy. Kyle was able to stay standing and land really well, but i didn't take enough steps and my instructor fell on top of me! It didn't hurt, but it still wasn't a very good landing on my part.
Overall, it was an awesome adventure. Neither of us is sure if we would do it again, but I am so glad we did do it! Totally amazing and a once in a lifetime experience. Here are some of the best pictures from our jumps!

Catching Up

Well it has sure been a while!! Since my last post, life has gotten crazy and boring all at the same time. Crazy because of moving and making big plans, and boring because Kyle and I have been living apart for 3 long months.
We decided at the end of the summer that we needed to get a move on with our lives (haha), and that being in Utah county wasn't the right place for us any more. We ended our rental agreement at the end of September and moved all of our belongings to my parents' house in Eagle, ID. The plan was that I would try to find a job and Kyle would join me in three weeks. However, because of a lot of complications, and because life just gets crazy, Kyle has ended up living in Utah up until.. now. He finally moved up here with me right before Christmas! :)
In the meantime, I found an awesome job at Idaho Central Credit Union as a teller, and kyle got accepted into BSU for the spring semester, starting Jan. 21! We are so happy to be moving forward. I think we are going to be really happy living here for the time being. until Kyle's graduate school, at least:)
During these past few months, we also enjoyed an anniversary trip to Park City for a weekend, had a wonderful family reunion with my family in St. George, and a lovely Christmas together! Life is so good!
